How long does it take you to grow that 10-foot long sugar cane? Wow that is a good juicer that you have there! Thanks for the good video. You inspired me to grow some sugar cane now

you could have used the cutter instead of the knife. That was a good machine and sugarcane and lots of work.Thanks.

I am sure that you should be able to juice the canes without cutting it into 4 quarters in Breville juicer because that's how I make it on my Hamilton Beach big mouth Pro juicer…

Wow,a pinch of rock salt, few mint leaves and some cubes of ice would take this juice to the different level of refreshment..I am from Nepal, currently living in US, growing up in the yard with lots of canes, I always drank it like so,during Summer.. Just saying, hope you don't mind!!

Hey, here's a suggestion for you: http://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-Ratcheting-PVC-Cutter-TMC0001J/204284860 It doesn't have to be from HD, but you get the idea. It makes real easy cutting of the cane for harvesting, and for cutting out the joints. The other thing you might want to try is Cutting out the joints before peeling as you can put each section on the table (on end and shave off the outer layer. It will also make it easier to avoid wasting so much usable cane while peeling. Also, keep your knife really sharp, and sharpen frequently as the tough fiber will dull it fast. If you're not good with a steel, then get one of those ones that you draw the knife through to tweak up the edge for faster and safer peeling. So far as the cutter goes, you may have to remove the blade from the cutter and use a file or grinder to sharpen it. It's just one screw on the pivot point and it comes right apart. BTW, get the ratcheting type.

Your video's are way to long for people to watch plus your babbling. You need to edit your video's down to at least 4/5 minutes.Because people haven't got time to watch 20 minute video's..Just saying..

  • Hi Honey

Great video, I wonder could you use the fibers to make a sugar cane wine? since it would still have plenty of sugar. I will be going to my local market this Monday look for sugar cane. πŸ˜€ Thanks Is that a papaya tree in the background do you have a video ?

  • FarHorizons

Really appreciated the video. I grew my first crop of cane last summer and ended up composting it as I couldn't easily juice it. Ironically I have a similar Breville juicer, and if I'd seen your video then, well… By the way, what speed did you run the juicer on – maximum?

  • poolandmusic

Thank you for this vid. I am in Suriname and just came home with some cane and was happy to find this very informative video to help prepare it for juicing.Best wishes to you!

Do love your vids on cane!! I just found a small cane patch yesterday up in Stuart, FLorida! Managed to take some & now I'm trying to start them like in your previous vid! Going to be looking for different varieties now πŸ™‚

I wish I would've watch this video before I tried juicing the cane & slightly messed up my breville juicer because I didn't take out the joints/nodes like I should have

+floridabeachhunter Just a thought bud, perhaps you could use a coffee filter on your juice? You could place it in your little handheld filter. Also, Thanks for these videos! I'm really considering growing sugar cane next year. Happy growing!
